A Great Book Now Even Greater
By j e lukaszewski
Until this book came out, it was really hard to imagine how Granville Toogood, or Granny, as he is known to his friends, colleagues and clients, could have improved on his original version of The Articulate Executive. But, now comes the NEW Articulate Executive, which IS new, interesting, sensible, insightful, and even more practical than its predecessor. It is also vintage Granville Toogood.
Here's a special tip. Skip right to page 215 and take The Articulate Executive Quiz. It's a very interesting self analysis. The quiz is your systematic roadmap to help maximize Granny's wisdom. It will also help you bring into focus your vision of yourself, how to articulate it and achieve it. Great leaders are articulate leaders. Visionary leaders can articulate their vision. The executives of tomorrow can articulate where we are headed. If you have something to say that matters, this us your deskibook.

Walking the Talk: Wonderfully Clear... and Practical
By Bryan W. Mattimore
What I'm looking for in a book like this is that the information be both practical AND proven: based on the author's real-world experience successfully applying what he's recommending. And happily, this is what you get in Toogood's terrific new book. The New Articuate Executive is a great combination of timeless theory, wisdom based on a lifetime of practicing and teaching the art of presentation and persuasion, and very practical tips and techniques informed by the exciting -- but also frenetic reality -- of how we as a society now communicate. Highly recommended, in part because of the author's expertise and clarity in presenting the material, but also because of his engaging writing style.

The New Articulate Executive
By Ebony
The New Articulate Executive sets great guidelines for giving the perfect speech. Toogood state that "the good speaker is always on the alert for opportunities to appeal to common sense and our deepest needs." He says when preparing a presentation identify the problem, take a position, and provide an answer. I took a special interest in his demonstration of The POWER Formula-begin with a Punch, stick with one theme, provide relevent examples, mask the presentation with conversation, and end with the purpose looping back to the beginning. I recommend using the POWER Formula will save time in a presentation and get the point across effectively, while leaving the audience fulfilled.
