5Break Through Stuckness With Hardline Self Help
By L.J. Earnest
(Excerpted from the full review at SimpleProductivityBlog.com)

The Law of Attraction is all well and good, but it doesn't work for everybody. Or most people, actually. But that doesn't mean that the rest of us are out of luck. The methods of The Hardline Self Help Handbook by Paula Renaye can help you get through the stuff that is keeping you stuck and help you move into the future of your making. I've always wanted there to be a magic wand to make my ideal life appear. But coming up through life the way I have, I also know that nothing worth having comes easy. Many people will say "I'll do anything to [have/do/be]..." But that isn't the truth. They won't do anything. And it is this limiting belief that helps keep them from reaching what they want.

What are you not willing to do? To counter the realization that there are some things you are not willing to do or give up, Paula asks you to list what you're not willing to give up. In my case, I realized that the things I was not willing to give up were the choices I was making to keep in my life, and those choices have a cost. This cut some resentments I was starting to harbor off at the knees. So what can you do right now? Take some time and list five things that you are not willing to change about your life. Everything is on the table here. Consider if you are willing to give up a relationship, a home, where you live, what you do, everything. See if they answers shock you as they did me. Disclosure: Paula Renaye provided me with a free copy of the book through YP Publishing to enable me to write this review, the full text of which appears on SimpleProductivityBlog.com

5Review of The Hardline Self Help Handbook
By Julia Widdop
The Hardline Self Help Handbook teaches the reader how to apply tough love to him/herself. It's full of lists of hard-to-answer questions that penetrate right to the heart of the matter. As the reader confronts him/herself and forces himself to answer the questions honestly, confusion clears and clarity begins to take hold. In addition the book has structured writing assignments, that once again take you deep within to find the answers, and along with the answers you will find solutions because these writing assignments are perfect ways to enlist our subconscious in the fight to help ourselves and make a better life. You can open the book randomly and find a helpful exercise on any page, such as suggestions for making a vision board and script, or examining your dreams for guidance. Written by a professional coach and a regression hypnosis practitioner, the professionalism of the book is evident. Available at Amazon and the author's website at:[...], the book is priced at $19.95 for the paperback and $9.95 for the Kindle edition.

5Very much worth reading
By Paul Lappen
There seem to be a million self-help books on the market. This one is different in that it takes a much harder line with the reader. Most people say that they are willing to do "anything" to change their lives. Really? Are you willing to quit your lucrative, but unfulfilling, job to start on a new career? Are you willing to move to a different town, or different state, to advance your career? Write down five things you are not willing to do. Why aren't you willing to do them? (There are no right or wrong answers; this is simply to give you a better idea of what your subconscious is thinking.)

Everyone has "buttons" that are pushed on occasion. Do you really think that cursing, and giving the finger, to someone who cuts you off on the highway will really convince them to never do it again? Also, please remove the phrase "if only" from your brain right now. Your life will not suddenly become happy and perfect if only you get that big promotion, or if only your spouse stops acting like such an inconsiderate jerk. You cannot change or control other people; all you can do is change your reactions to other people. For some people, forgiveness toward others is a near impossibility. Keeping that hurt inside will only injure you, not the other person. Don't try to minimize or justify it by saying something like "They didn't mean it, and I know they won't do it again." You don't know that they won't do it again. What you can do is acknowledge that it happened, and how you felt at that moment, and let the pain go. When your subconscious tries to bring it back, make it clear to yourself that it is done and over with, end of story.

Everyone knows someone who is a hypochondriac, constantly running to the doctor with imagined ailments, or is Mr. or Ms. Negative Attitude (perhaps that person is you). If they show no desire to even try to change their lives, then let them enjoy their corner of Self-Pity Land by themselves, while you go back to improving your life (If you have become some kind of self-pity addict, and don't want to "kick the habit," then please shut up. The rest of us are no longer interested.). For those who are honestly willing to do the work necessary to change their lives, this book is very much worth reading. The chapters are short, and they can be read in any order.
